Are all Blackberries “required” to get a data service package with Verizon?
They are advertising buy one get one free for things like the Blackberry 8330. However, they do not say you *have* to get a data package. I added it to my cart, selected a “Family Select” $99 a month service…and they prompt for like a $29.99 a month web/email service or a $49.99 a month service for something else.
This is…required? I can’t get a regular Select family service on a Blackberry without the additional data/web b.s.? I like the design and keypad – but don’t need internet, just texting…which is covered in the Select plan. It says I *have* to choose an internet plan. What’s up with that?

Email and Web for Smartphone $29.99/month
Smart phones don’t work on basic service plans without data packages as a requirement?
Verizon requires the data plan on blackberries.
