What are baseball slang words that pitchers use?
I am making my boyfriend this design thing. He is a baseball fanatic, as u can tell, he is a pitcher. I need to know some slang words that pitchers use so i can include those. I’ve heard people say Heat before. But idk what it means. Is that even a slang word for anything?
heat, it is the fastball. “bring the heat”=”use the fastball”.
rubber or slab(tow the slab), the white rubber slab on the mound. when a pitcher tows the slab; he is pitching.
yakker, curveball
cheese,fastball
meatball, pitch down the middle
down the pipe, pitch down the middle
fireballer, pitcher who throws hard (Zumaya, Papelbon, Verlander)
theirs more but they are less common
