Design Happy Life

How do I make new friends?
I moved to a new county a few months ago, however battling depression, I am anti social. When I do go out I feel akward and uncomfortable at how other people are so happy and how they protray life is perfect and I find myself comparing me to them then I get more depressed at how everyone seems to have when I can’t attain in life and I feel like everything I do have is a struggle to get.
I like art, graphic design and music, but am not able to find like minded people in my area.
Any suggestions?
What country are you living in? First of all, you should try to find help for your depression. Secondly, you’ve got to stop comparing yourself to other people and just focus on making small goals for yourself. I don’t know if http://www.Meetup.com and http://www.craigslist.org are too active where you are – check them out though (or something similar) and look for activity groups or meetups that sounds interesting and like they’d attract like-minded people. You should also check http://www.rounds.com and seek out other people your age in your area — video chat with some people, ask them for tips on meeting people — and maybe you’ll even hit it off with someone there, great. Also, are you working? Can you get something part time? Music stores and clothing shops and even pubs and cafes can be really friendly places to work, I’ve made a lot of friends that way. You’re just together for so much time and going through so much baloney that people really get close quickly. Good luck! I hope it gets better.
