Design Honda Civic
Regular Honda civic or hybrid civic ?
I will be a fourth year college student this year and am ready to buy my new car. I have $25000 for it. I am still debating between A regular civic or a hybrid. I like to drive fast but not race. I am not considering the si version at all, plus the gas milage on the si’s really suck. I currently drive a 99 corrolla but want a new car design. If i get a regular civic I want it with sunroof, the gps system and a rear spoiler. Which regular civic model do you think is better ? The EX with all that i want will run around $22,300 while the hybrid would go for a little under $25000 plus it gets a tax reduction. When will the 2008 honda civics come out ?
Recently I have also be seen the 07 nissan altimas. They are still in my price range and a little more luxurious than a civic. What r your opinions on this car ? Do you know when the 08 altima comes out ?
btw I am looking for a 4 door car and not a 2door one
Car and Driver and Motortrend Magazine as well as most of the Consumer Mags have rated the Honda Civic over both the Toyota and the Nissan. But bottom line is it is your money so do the best for yourself. Find a car that fits your lifestyle the best.
With that in mind I would recomend that you get the Honda Civic EX with the Navi.
You loose a significant amount of pick up with the Hybrid but those that buy a Hybrid are looking for fuel savings not for speed and performance.
The extra cost between the Hybrid and the Non Hybrid will purchase quite a bit of fuel and you will have more fun based on your own requirements.
The unit you are looking for (EX Navi) should have an MSRP of 21,855 plus the cost of your Spoiler and any tax and Licence you must pay. You should be able to get the car for about 21,000
maybe even less if your dealer is very aggressive.
Fast driving and the Hybrid do not mix and you will be dissapointed.
As for performance and fun to drive you will find that the Honda is more responsive with a better suspension and more “road feel” than either of the other two cars and the navi system is second to none with its voice and touch screen capabilities.
Test drive all of them on the same day using the same route and the same speed to get a better idea of the one that fits your style the best. If you do them all back to back you can better remember how each one feels compared to the other.
Just an idea
All the 08 will be out within the next few months but believe me the prices will increase and the agressivness of the dealership is stronger on the 07. You will get a better deal if you opt for the 07
