Do you agree with Former Mexican President Vicente Fox position on the U.S. border fence?
Noting that “it didn’t work” in China and Berlin, former Mexican President Vicente Fox took issue Friday with the ongoing construction of a high chain-link fence separating his country from the United States.
Designed to extend for hundreds of miles along the U.S.-Mexican border in an effort to discourage illegal immigration, the fence has been a subject of controversy for years.
Fox added his own thoughts and began with a qualifier during a meeting of national agriculture officials at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center.
“Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I say it with respect,” he began. “I don’t understand why the wall was built — it divides friends, divides neighbors, divides countries.”
Delivering the keynote address at the annual meeting of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, Fox maintained at the luncheon that there are “better ways” of dealing with “migration.”
