how’s the life of a graphic designer?
i’m 21 this year and i decided to change my course to graphic design. I know many ppl said age doesnt matter when you wanna learn, but the truth is i really dont have much time. By the time i graduate i’ll be like 24-25? and start getting my salary again from RM1200-1500?
But i like to draw, design logo fonts and so on.. i’m jus afraid that after i graduate i cant really earn much for i noe dat it’s not easy to keep ur client nor collect money from them..if things like that happen, i’m worry i’ll lost my only interest i like..after all, no money, no life..( dont tell me money is not important, it is important to me)
My parents said it’s better to go for interior design cause my mom herself graduated as an interior designer and my dad is a contractor. i would have better benefit if i go for this course. But i would prefer to go for graphic design if i compare them both..(PS: they wont sponsor me if i go for graphic design)
And now i’m confuse on what to do next..
It’s not all about taking courses or graduating – personaly i think it’s more important to have visual culture and a creative portofolio when you apply to a job. And a good negociator ![]()
The earning part…I know, material motivation is important but keep in mind that – in most cases – what you’ll earn will depend on your personal development. On how high you aim. And of course, on loving what you do. If you really – i mean REALLY – want this….do it without second thoughts. I have no right to say this…but your parents should support you, no matter what your decision will be. Or… you can do it both
. If you are not sure, do the interior design, then the graphics – as a hobby or part-time job.
