Design Patents Invention
How to begin the process of patenting a new invention?
I have a idea of improving a current design in the truck and trailer industry. What I need to know is… Has anybody come up with a similar design? Do I need to build a model or is detailed plans good enough?
Any web sites or advice would be appreciated.
Also, I would need to patent the item in both Canada and USA.
from what i have been told in order to begin a patent process you first must request a patent search through the u.s. patent office, which takes a couple thousand dollars and quite some time and yes i do believe that you must have a schematic or prototype.
