Help with designing costumes?
So for art class I need to design costumes for a stage production play called ‘The Insects’. It is only the process work that is graded.
So .. what can I do?
I’m already taking pictures of different insects and sketching them and then labelling them. Then..I’m kinda stuck. Any tips, ideas, help?

We didn’t get the script for the play, so we only know that we have to design costumes for the theme of insects, but thanks! 
First, read the play if you haven’t already. Then read it again but this time, make notes on everything you read that is relevant to the way people look. This can include direct descriptions (“I like your blue shirt Jane”) or character indicators (“Nancy is so vain; she’s always dressing up”).
Since this is a play where the characters are not entirely human you need to then decide if you are going to be literal or interpretive in how your represent the insects. A butterfly character may have wings and antennae or she may be wearing a dress with a sleeve shape and color that suggest her species of butterfly.
It’s good that you have a lot of pictures but don’t stop with pictures of bugs. Find out when the play was first produced and get pictures of clothing from that time period, look at fashion shows with insect influence or art about insects. Then you can either make a collage of your favorite pieces from all your research or you can start trying to sketch them into a cohesive costume.
