Engineering Design Process Prototypes

SCIENCE – TECHNOLOGY – ENGINEERING IS THE CORRECT?
Science is understanding & continuous exploration of natural world. In short it is study of As Is. Technology is applying the outcome of scientific principles to innovate & improve man made world. The output of Technology is a new or better process of doing. Engineering is applying the outcome of technology to design, develop & manufacture.
Example: The first understanding of steam as a form of water capable to open up tightly closed tea-kettle is science. Then making of steam boiler prototype in laboratory by continuous experimentation & finally arriving at a most efficient process known that time was technology. Later manufacturing of the steam boiler in factory & rolling it out for use comes under engineering.
Mm, you haven’t really got things down right. You’re trying to force a structure where it doesn’t belong. Engineering is the techniques that humans use to design machines (technology) using known phenomena. Those phenomena are turned into a human concept we can use through the process of science.

Essentially correct.
“Technology is applying the outcome of scientific principles to innovate & improve man made world.”
“Engineering is applying the outcome of technology to design, develop & manufacture. ”
Those are both what we would call engineering.
Technology is a word used to collectively refer to the machines we build, it’s not a “process” that one could speak of.
