Entry Level Graphic Design Salaries

what is the salary of an entry level graphic designer in central oregon?
I am currently a student working as an intern. I am at the equivalent of an associates degree working towards bachelors. My school requires only 90 hours for the internship, I am wondering where I should start my negotiation for cash compensation after this time? I have looked online for advice on this subject, however, have had no luck. At this internship I have large responsibilities for the design of advertising and marketing materials for a small, yet growing magazine and other opportunities in the company.
Classic answer is Salary.com, I have included a link to the range there, assuming Eugene Oregon is as middle of the state I can get.
My second source are estimates from the US Department of Labor. Regardless of source, your looking at $30-40K USD annually I would say, if you’ve got some talent. Make sure you have a portfolio, real world experience looks great and also indicates you are organized.
Another thing to consider is not only salary but benefits. Many companies offer low salary but great benefits, so be sure to understand what those are and factor that into your overall decision as a starting point. Always know what benefits are available before negotiating. This may skew the numbers given in my sources. Also realize smaller companies might not be able to offer as much given the fact that their budgets are generally smaller.
