Should I get a .com or .ca domain?
I’m starting a small scale graphic design business, I’ll be doing some local work (I’m situated in Ontario, CA), but the majority of it will be online.
Should my portfolio website be a .ca or a .com? My desired domain name is already taken with the .com ending, however I could change it up to find one that’s not taken.
Since I’m doing international business, should I opt for the .com?
When it comes to domain names you should never “settle” on a name just because it is available. If it was my site then I would start to develop the .ca name that is better and keep working on acquiring the .com version. A quality website will reach search engine results regardless of the extension. When you are finally able to acquire the .com then you can re-direct the traffic to the more popular extension.
