what interior design school could i get in, or you recommend?
first i will list all the things i do
- Student council vice president
- varsity cross country both years
- gpa 3.4
- i took every art class my school offers
Cornell, pratt, parsons?
I’m going to take a summer college course for high schools this summer, and i will also do some out of school classes. i got into interior design because my mom was an antique dealer and my dad is a ebinesterie maker (french cabinet maker), i’ve been fixing antiques at his shop since i was 7. my mom is very into designing rooms and it had faded of to me… she wanted to go to parsons but didn’t have the money. my dad went to cambridge university in england.
any requests on universities? also what do portfolios consider of? certainly a fashion Designer is going to have different portfolio requirements than a photographer…or an interior designer..
Hi! Well it sounds like you’re very well prepared and are very talented for sure! I’m sure that Parsons is a good school for interior design but I do know that FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles is an awesome school for interior design. I do have friends who went to FIDM and say the school is awesome in their networking connections and helping students land killer internships! The career center is also great in helping students after they graduate if they need job assistance.
