Interior Design Research Jobs

Anyone expirenced in Real Estate? Professionally…?
I’m thinking of researching Interior Design/ Real estate as a Career option. Is there even a correlation between Interior Design and Real estate? What steps do I need to take in order to be successful in this field and secure a job (education wise). Also if you are in this business, what looks good on a resume from someone just begining in this field? Thanks!
I can’t speak for interior design, but in real estate, you don’t just submit a resume and get hired. In fact, most agents never get “hired,” they’re independent contractors who are managed by a broker. Some offices are more selective in whom they allow, but it’s a whole different process from a normal at-will employment situation. Contact your state real estate commission to find out what requirements exist in your state.
There is a movement towards staging homes for sale that combines the two. Essentially, you go in and pretty up homes to make them more appealing to buyers.
