Interior Design Position job applicable position?
If you were hiring for an entry level Interior Design Position would you consider employment for Norwalk Furniture experience in the Interior Design field? I am currently trying to get work with an Interior Design firm but keep the Catch22 of job placement- No experience? Well we wont give it to you.
I want to work here but it is based off commision and the base salary is 14,000 less than what I am currently making. The main reason I am interested is for the experience. Do you think it would be considered experience or just dismissed as sales/ retail work?
I think you can definitely sell your furniture experience as interior design experience if you word it correctly on your resume. Think about it this way… as a furniture sales person you have been sellings furniture to clients and you have numbers showing this… In interior design your simply selling your ideas and designs. Same basic idea. You have experience selling large ticket items too I am assuming.
You can definitely show this as experience… you just have to sell yourself to the potential employer… good luck!
