Interior Design White

Interior Design, what do you do with white tile walls?
We are decorating a school reception area. The walls are all white tile and the floor is PCP with wood print. How should it be decorated? What colors would go best? What would help it to not look like a bathroom? It needs to be a warm, welcoming, bright environment that people would want to bring their children to. There will be a reception desk and an area with large throw pillows to sit on and read books. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Have tables where the kids and their parents can make the decor … with each ‘piece’ to be no larger than one tile (or four tiles, if they are smaller tiles) … put finger paint (the basic red, yellow, blue) on one table, and have tissue to make paper flowers on another, and have a table with pictures from magazines of flowers, water, clouds to make a ‘collage’ … and have a person with a steady ladder who can take each piece and put it on the wall. Yes, it will be chaotic … but this kind of ‘do it yourself’ activity is much more ‘inviting’ than expecting the parents to come in and ‘sit quietly and read’ … kids can make new friends and can learn new skills … which will make the ‘reading group’ experience much easier when it’s time for that.
