Internship Graphic Design Philadelphia
Should I take an internship outside of my major?
I am a Graphic Design student going into senior year and I always dreamed of working for a magazine. I plan on interning this coming fall semester and emailed Philadelphia Magazine about their internship opportunities. They told me there are only openings in the Marketing and Special Events department. It is not possible for me to intern in NYC just yet, so do you think I should still apply for this internship even though it is outside of my major? I feel like maybe interning there I could slowly work my way in the magazine world. Help please! Thanks!

Even though this internship wouldn’t be in your direct field of interest, it certainly is in a very close/related area. Plus, getting this experience will make you a more versatile candidate when you start to apply for full-time jobs after college.
I would definitely try to land this internship.
