What stadiums have the most distinctive Aspect to their design in MLB?
Examples would be: the little hill you haveta run up to catch a ball in CF in Minute Maid Park in Houston… Or the elevated Traintracks in Left field in Safeco in Seattle.. Shoooooort right Field and Deeeeep Left center in Yankee stadium… etc…
I’m gonna have to say Fenway as well. That park is just so quirky with the green monster, and the triangle and Pesky’s pole, and the fans right on top of the players. Other than Yankee Stadium (which at least looks somewhat normal) those other parks just don’t have the same tradition, and their distinctiveness feels contrived. They were built to be distintive or different, whereas Fenway has been like that for so long, I’m not sure anyone alive knows exactly why it was built that way.
That hill and that pole in Houston is just weird, I’m always afraid that the CF is going to kill himself out there some day.
