Which is a better 3d modeling choice?
Alright, I have been working on a number of architectural design products as a student, but I need a good rendering program to continue this. I want a good all-around program as well, as I have been exploring many possibilities in the 3d field. Here are my options…
1.
Autodesk Suite (i forgot which one)
includes perpetual licences of 3DS Max 2011, Maya 2011, Softimage 2011, MotionBuilder 2011, Sketchbook pro 2010 & Mudbox 2011
for $360
if I got this I would also be able to afford
AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite 2011
which includes 5-year licences of AutoCAD, AutoCAD architecture, and Revit Architecture
$205…
Total: $565
(Reatils at over $25,000)
However, some of my friends love Cinema 4D, and I have never tried it, so I could get Cinema 4D for about $900, but its only for 3 years ![]()
I am leaning towards the Autodesk bundle (especially since I have many hours invested in Autodesk stuff, and LOVE the interface), but what should I choose?
Go with whatever you are comfortable in. It sounds like you like auto desk format and have many years in this format. Just remember if it aint broke don’t fix it (aka autodesk format vs cinema 5.5.) Plus I dont know Cinema 5.5, but autodesk makes autocad and all of the other programs that you listed in package 1, so a compatibility problem would be less likely.
