How much detail should I go into in making this website?

I’m creating a website for a web design class ans need to write about 1) the first ballpoint pen, 2) the transistor radio popular in the 50s, and 3) the internet. I need to answer this question (and a few others, but mainly this one):

Tell about who was responsible for bringing the technology from question 1 to the public. Briefly describe his/her career.

I’d like to do summarized but detailed accounts on each step in the process of developing these inventions (such as with the transistor radio, discussing the first radio transmissions, the first broadcast, the revolutionary componentsthat made the final (transistor) radio feasible, etc), but there is a TON of information out there, and I want to both finish this step of my project on time AND aviod being longwinded about it, as this is a website that hopefully real people will read.

How how deeply should I go into the history/development of each invention? :

thanks! :D

This is a question you should be asking your teacher, not us.

If you want to save yourself time though, do a search on the internet to locate essays on these things and copy them. Once you make the page for each, site each location where you got the information so as to not be in trouble for copy-right infringements.

As I would guess, I think a web design class would be less about the ‘details’, and more on the ‘design’ of the site. I’d recommend concentrating your hard work on the actual design and utilize the details from another source.
